MELLOTT — Dalmer Allen, 59, longtime resident of near Mellott, died suddenly at his farm home 1 1/2 miles south of this city at 11 a.m. Friday. He had been in failing health during the past year. Born Feb. 1, 1906, in Wabash Township in Fountain County, Mr. Allen was the son of Pearl and Susan Askren Allen. In September of 1930 he married Dorothy McCann of Covington. The couple moved to the farm home outside Mellott in 1940. Mr. Allen was a farmer all his life. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Wayne and James, both of near Mellott; five grandchildren, and a brother, Jesse Allen of near Kingman. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate.

MELLOTT — Funeral services for Dalmer Allen, age 59, a life resident of Fountain County, who died Friday morning, March 5, at his home, a mile and a half south of Mellott on Veedersburg Rt. 3 were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated and burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mr. Allen was born Feb. 1, 1906, in Wabash Township, the son of Pearl and Susan Askren Allen. He was married Aug. 26, 1930 to Dorothy McCann, who survives. He had been a farmer and had resided for the past 25 years at his present home. He was a member of the Cooper Chapel EUB Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: two sons, Wayne L. and James C., both of Veedersburg Rt. 3; one brother, Jesse of Veedersburg Rt. 1; and five grandchildren.
